The SMACKEDIT: Best of Beauty — Travel Edition ✈️💄
Life has a crazy way of leading us to better and better. Sometimes you just don’t realize it until you’re looking back.
So, I’m starting something new here on SMACKEDIT: updates with links to the things I’m actually loving, using, testing, buying, and packing. As much as possible, I’ll link everything for you in one place so you don’t have to hunt it down yourself.
And hopefully, each month, I’ll do a little monthly recap of my favorite products too.
I’m kicking it off with Best of Beauty: Travel Edition because I just got back from Denver, and these are the things I packed, used, tested, and genuinely wouldn’t want to travel without.
I’ve been testing some of the accessory and beauty products that SMACK doesn’t sell and linking them for the friends who follow me. Think of this as me doing the digging and saying, “Okay, this one is actually worth it.”
My Travel Skin + Beauty Essentials
The 7-Day Makeup Eraser Kit
My 7-day Lemon Kit is the one I currently have from Target, but my original set was the 7-Day Makeup Eraser Brand Neutral Shade Bundle.
I always take my makeup off when I travel, and I actually try to keep my skincare routine the exact same — or BETTER — than it is at home.
Travel already puts enough stress on your skin between airplanes, different environments, weather changes, pollution and everything else. I don’t want to throw a completely different skincare routine into the mix, too.
The little travel bag that comes with the Makeup Eraser kit has also become surprisingly useful. I used it for my earrings, hair clips and ties, and even my witch hazel.
And just in case that witch hazel decided to open in my bag, the Eraser pads would absorb the liquid.
Sounds like a pretty good Plan B to me, right? 😂
A new face wash I’ve been loving is the VaniCream Sensitive Skin Cleanser.
I started using it about two weeks before my trip and my skin didn't change — which is honestly my favorite thing when trying new skincare.
I love trying new products, but I also study ingredients and formulations because I have acne-prone, reactive skin and I don't want to make myself the ultimate guinea pig.
This one is a win for me.
It came with me to Denver as a full-size bottle, and the packaging is slim enough that it fit easily into my Makeup Eraser bag.
Don't Forget Your Retinol
One thing I will never skip when traveling is my retinol.
My mini Differin Gel came with me and I applied it nightly just like I normally do at home.
For me, consistency is key. I don't want to come home from a trip feeling like my skin has completely forgotten everything we've been doing.
Hair Stuff I Actually Brought
Okay, I don't talk much about hair because my hair routine is pretty simple — but the tools I do use are easy and inexpensive.
I left for Denver with my hair freshly washed and crimped, and I brought my Hot Tools" Iron. It's skinny and weighs practically nothing, so yes... it literally fit in between my shoes. 😂
I also brought my Wet Brush.
That little babe fit right inside my GRWM bag from @ShopThreadAndButter, which is also where I kept my Toppik hairline filler.
💄 Let's Get Into My GRWM Bag
I have acne-prone skin, I pick at my skin 🙃, the seasons are changing, and I'm 35 and apparently AGING FASTER THAN I'D LIKE.
You know... the joy of being simultaneously convinced you're still in 10th grade while also being your kids' referee. 😂
So let's go through what actually came with me.
Starting with SMACK:
And the extras:
✈️ Things I Wouldn't Have Survived Traveling Without
If you've made it this far — amazing. 😂 And thank you for being here because now we're getting into the random things that ended up being VERY important.
Glitch Wellness Self-Heating Air Mask
I truly hate traveling.
Like... really hate it.
It's pretty debilitating for me, but I do it because I SHOULD LIVE. 😂
I also typically break out in terrible eczema around my eyes when I travel, so yes — cortisone is in my bag.
Going into the mountains, I knew I didn't want my skin to completely dry out. So I tried a little method before heading to the airport that I felt really helped keep my skin comfortable.
The self-heating mask was warm, weighted and just genuinely comforting.
My Pre-Flight Skin Method
Before heading to the airport, I did:
Evian Facial Spray → Face It! Spray → let everything air dry.
That's it.
Then my Goodr sunglasses went on because I wanted to keep my skin as CLEAN and PURE as it was intended to beand avoid touching my face.
Before boarding, I washed my hands really well.
Once I sat down, I used a hand wipe and got settled.
Then, right before takeoff, I applied my Daybreak Eye Treatment + 24.7 Lip Treatment, put on my self-heating mask and we were off.
And this thing stayed HOT for literally 30 minutes.
I kept it on for two hours. 😂
I even ate my lunch with it on because it felt good and, honestly, it gave me another reason to refuse to touch my face.
So those are my Denver travel beauty tips!
These are the products I actually packed, actually used and actually loved — with a few things I genuinely wouldn't want to travel without.
I'll keep adding links here whenever I find something that makes the cut.
This is The SMACKEDIT. 💋
Real products. Real testing. Real opinions. And direct links to the things I'm actually using.
Hope you try some of these and love them as much as I do!
